We tap about 300 trees and produce our own Maple syrup. They are available for sale in our retail store. If you want to buy them by the gallon, we also have that available. Call or stop in for details.

Tapping the sap
The flow of sap is highly dependant upon weather conditions. Flow does not begin until after a time of hard freeze, followed by several sunny days with temperatures in the 40s. The peak flow occurs early in the sugaring season when it freezes at night and is bright and sunny the next day with the temperature in the 40s. We use two methods to tap the tress to make our Maple syrup. Method one... Method two

Boiling it down
Boiling it down requires a great deal of energy. We use a ?? type evaporator to boil down the sap that is collected. to effectively evaporate water and convert the sap to syrup, the temperature should be ???. The sap to sryup ratio is normally ???? dependant of sugar content of the sap.

Testing the syrup
The syrup is nearly done when it boils with an oily appearance. A commercial additive is added to limit foam from forming. An instrument (???) is used to test the sugar content and lets you know when it has turned to syrup.

Final product
After the syrup has been collected, it is then filtered to take our any impurities and packaged. You can buy our maple syrup in XX oz. bottles.
